The Postpartum Bonding Questionnaire is a self-report questionnaire designed to screen disorders of the mother-infant relationship, which has been adapted several countries. aim this study was investigate validity evidence Brazilian version (PBQ-Br) based on its internal structure (dimensionality, reliability, and measurement invariance between mothers with without depressive symptoms) relations other variables (depression). present part Ribeirão Preto São Luís Cohort Studies, encompassing data collected from February 2011 September 2013. Data were available for 2207 general population cities, who assessed using PBQ Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale. Regarding structure, results confirmatory factor analyses did not support original four-factor model, nor alternative structures tested. Exploratory analysis suggested one-factor model eight items data, accounting 38.7% total variance good consistency (α = 0.83). Concerning variables, mean PBQ-Br score symptoms significantly higher than no symptoms. In conclusion, we found proved be useful tool assessing relationship in rather purpose, i.e., bonding disorders. also highlight importance developing cross-cultural studies order provide measures specific populations.
